Preparing for CCTV overlooking Warwick Park

On Monday, 25th April, several lamp columns were structurally tested to ensure they are robust enough to have the equipment for CCTV cameras installed in a few weeks. This is just one of the many steps that the parish council has to complete to receive approval by local authorities for the cameras to be installed, and their images which will be fed securely and confidentially to the HDC monitoring centre. The new cameras will be linked into the current network of cameras on High Street and are being installed to provide video evidence to help the police and community safety partnership reduce anti-social behaviour.

The picture shows one of the lamp columns in Warwick Park, overlooking the children's play area, being structurally tested by a specialist company.

The extension of the CCTV network is just one of many projects being carried out this year by both Kibworth parish councils to improve facilities for our communities.
