Two important local community services are shared and operated in partnership with Kibworth Harcourt Parish Council. These are the public recreational facilities and Kibworth Cemetery which are managed by the Kibworth Joint Recreation and Kibworth Joint Burial Boards respectively. Representatives from each Parish Council are elected annually.
Both Boards prepare annual budgets which are submitted to the relevant Kibworth Parish Council for approval. The financial requirements are proportioned according to the numbers on the respective current Parish Electoral Rolls. The accounts of both Boards are included in the relevant parish council annual audit.
From 1 April 2021, no further finances will be paid by each parish council as a lump sum each year, but instead expenditure will be invoiced proportionately between the parish councils as the costs are agreed. This should mean that the audit for 2021/22 will be for the two parish councils and not require separate Joint Board audits as there will no longer be any Joint Board assets to audit.
